    Well, I'll jump.....looks to me like ya' got it down pat. There's alot going on there but it looks good. I've done some checkerboarding and decided that it was WAY to much time and effort, all that cutting and gluing, but it does look nice and certainly adds to the build. To my eye the smaller checks are better looking than larger, but nothing wrong with yours! Nice job.

    Thank you! The rear grip is the rubber rings, just to help stand-up in downrigger scotty holders. Had to add some of the cappuccino rings to try and pull the two grips into one look. The rear grip is 5" and the foregrip is 9", a bit smaller than the average downrigger rod. This will be gifted to my good friend that takes me on his charters at no cost!
